7. Aleksandra Boulevard (now Lenina Street). In the 19th century it developed into the most important thoroughfare leading out of Riga and became the chief axis of the city. The first tramline was running along it with tram-cars produced in Riga. The horse-trarns were running in the city since August 23, 1882. In 1901 they were replaced by the electric tram.
