Triglachromis otostigma (Bronze Triglachromis) inhabits sandy biotops of Lake Tanganyika. Kept in the USSR by aquarists since 1981. The male is well-proportioned, bronze-grey covered by rows of shining stripes, the fins are greenish-blue. The female is angular, dorsal and anal fins are roundish. Colour pattern of the female is less contrasty. Length, 8 to 12 cm. Live food of all kinds. The feeding should be rationed strictly. Sexually mature at 10 to 15 months. The eggs are incubated in the buccal cavity.
Breeding in captivity is not learned. The young are similar to the female in colour pattern. Feeding commences with small plankton. Water conditions: dGH 10—20°, pH 8.0—9.0, temperatures 24 to 26° C, aeration, filtration, water salinity 1.5—3.0%p.
