Pseudosimochromis curvifrons inhabits Lake Tanganyika. Kept in the USSR by aquarists since 1981. The male is greyish-green with vertical stripes on the body and golden spots on the anal fin. The head is brownish. The female is smaller and silvery, with rounded dorsal and anal fins. Length, 7 to 14 cm. Food: 70% vegetable and 30% animal. Sexually mature. at 12 to 15 months. Spawning in pairs. Fecundity up to 20 to 40 eggs. Incubation period about 30 days. Feeding commences with small plankton. The young are similar to the female in colour pattern. Water conditions: dGH 8—20°, pH 8.0—9.0, temperatures 24 to 26° C,
aeration, filtration and replacement of water.
