MALE FOLK COSTUME
The costume you see on this picture are ment for amateur art activities.
The shirt is made of thin white linen. The cut of the shirt is quite simple. Only the cuffs are adorned with a picked pattern called in Lithuanian "rinktinis rastas".
The bottom part of the trouser legs is taken in and sewn on to a narrow ankle tape the ends of which are tied together so that it should be easier to tuck the trousers into the stockings.
The stockings are white or light grey. At the top they are finished off with a broad coloured band in an elaborate design.
The trousers are girt with a broad decorative waist-band in a picked pattern ("rinktiné juosta"). The tie is made of a narrow band of. tissue.in a modest picked design ("rinktiné juostelé").
The sleeveless jacket fits in the waist. It is made with a broad V-neck, without any lapels and without a collar. The front, the part round the neck, and the armholes are adorned with black home-spun.
The straw hat is. adorned with a decorative twist made of coloured thread. The ends of the twist are fringed.
