5. The first Railway Bridge spanning the Daugava. It was built by the Riga-Bolderaja Railway Society in 1871—1872. With the increasing traffic later another ‘bridge was built between 1905 and 1914 close by. In the foreground are rafts from the upper reaches of the Daugava (their number amounted to 15,000 a year).
